In indoor gardening, determinate varieties are often preferred for larger plants like tomatoes and peppers because they are more compact and have a defined growth pattern. This makes them a better fit for indoor gardens with limited space.
Determinate varieties also produce their fruit all at once, rather than continuously throughout the season like indeterminate varieties. This can be helpful in an indoor garden where you may want to harvest your plants all at once and then replant.
Indeterminate plants, on the other hand, can grow quite tall and bushy and require more support and space to thrive. This can be a challenge in an indoor garden where space is already limited.
Grow to Your Experience Level
When it comes to indoor gardening with the Eden Tower system, it's important to choose plants that match your experience level.
If you're new to indoor gardening, we recommend starting with herbs and leafy greens, as these plants are easier to grow and require less hands-on care.
Herbs like basil, parsley, and mint, as well as leafy greens like lettuce, spinach, and kale, are good choices for beginners. They grow relatively quickly and are more forgiving if you make mistakes, such as over or under watering.
Once you gain more experience, try experimenting with other plants like tomatoes, peppers, and beans. While these plants require more attention, they can be extremely fulfilling to cultivate, as they boast beautiful flowers that will need pollination.
Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with pollination techniques - we'll cover that in future steps. To help you succeed, we've compiled a list of plants that are ideal for your level of experience. With this guide, you can easily choose the perfect plant for you and achieve gardening greatness!
With a positive and the willingness for trial and error, you'll soon be on your way to growing a wide variety of plants in your Eden Tower indoor garden.

Proper Spacing
Proper spacing is crucial for giving your plants enough room to grow and preventing overcrowding, which can lead to increased humidity and the growth of fungi and other plant diseases.
Fortunately, the Eden Tower system is designed to provide optimal growing conditions for your plants, making it an ideal choice for indoor gardening. However, it's still important to follow proper spacing guidelines to achieve the best results and avoid potential issues.
For smaller plants such as leafy greens and herbs, you can grow up to four plants per layer. This allows you to maximize your growing space and produce a bountiful harvest.
On the other hand, larger plants such as tomatoes, peppers, and beans should be limited to two per layer to give them enough space to grow and produce healthy fruit.
